COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Architecture program is structured across four years, gradually building students’ knowledge, technical abilities, and design expertise. In the first year, the focus is on developing foundational skills. Students study subjects like college composition, mathematics, and physics alongside introductory design courses such as visual communication and design principles. These courses help students build creativity, analytical thinking, and basic technical understanding required for architectural studies.In the second year, the curriculum becomes more specialized and intensive. Students explore the history of the designed environment, learning how architecture has evolved over time. At the same time, they engage in integrated design studios, where they apply concepts to practical projects. Courses like information modeling, construction systems, and prototyping introduce students to modern tools, materials, and building techniques. Environmental science is also included to emphasize sustainability and responsible design practices.The third year focuses on advancing both theoretical knowledge and technical skills. Students study modern texts and 20th-century architecture to deepen their understanding of design philosophies. Structural systems courses teach how buildings stand and function, while integrated design studios continue to challenge students with more complex projects. Communication skills are also strengthened through technical and professional writing, preparing students for real-world collaboration and presentation.In the fourth and final year, students refine their expertise and prepare for professional practice. Advanced design studios, including comprehensive design projects, allow students to demonstrate their accumulated knowledge. Specialized courses such as HVAC systems, water systems, acoustics, electrical, and illumination systems provide deeper technical insight. Electives give students flexibility to explore areas of interest.
