COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSBA in Sports Management curriculum is a four-year program designed to combine core business knowledge with specialized training in the sports industry. In the first year, students build a strong academic foundation with courses such as College Composition, Principles of Management, Information Technology Management, and mathematics. In the spring semester, they expand their understanding of business through subjects like Business Data Analytics, Foundations of AI in Business, Principles of Marketing, and Entrepreneurship, along with humanities courses that enhance communication and critical thinking skills. In the second year, the focus shifts toward core business functions, including Financial and Managerial Accounting, Economics, and Statistics, along with natural science courses and Technical and Professional Communication. Students are also introduced to the field through Intro to Sports Management, which provides an overview of the industry.In the third year, the curriculum becomes more specialized and career-focused. Students take courses such as Business Law, Sports Data Analytics, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Global Business Economics, and Project Management. They also study Sports Facilities and Events Management, gaining insight into how large-scale sports operations are planned and executed. Electives allow students to explore additional interests and broaden their skill set. In the fourth year, the program emphasizes advanced business strategy and real-world experience. Students study subjects like Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Operations Management, Simulation and Management Science, and Sports Law and Ethics. The final semester includes key courses such as Reflective Leadership, Applied Decision Analysis, Strategic Management, and Sports Marketing, along with a Business Internship that provides hands-on industry experience. Overall, the curriculum blends business fundamentals, technology, and sports-specific knowledge, preparing students for careers in sports management, event planning, marketing, and sports operations.
