COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Integrative Physiology and Neurobiology requires the completion of a minimum of thirty-two credit hours, combining core coursework, electives, seminars, and a research-based thesis. The program is structured to provide a strong foundation in research methods, ethical practices, and advanced biological concepts while allowing flexibility for students to tailor their studies to specific interests within physiology and neurobiology. Core requirements include Biological Statistics, which develops essential quantitative and data analysis skills, and Responsible Conduct in Research and Teaching, which emphasizes ethical standards and professional responsibility in scientific work.Students are also required to participate in Seminar in Biology multiple times, where they engage in academic discussions, present research findings, and stay informed about current advancements in the field. A student seminar presentation further enhances communication and presentation skills, which are critical for success in research and academic careers. In addition to these core components, students complete sixteen to eighteen credit hours of major electives. This allows them to explore specialized topics such as neuroscience, endocrinology, immunology, or other areas related to physiological systems, aligning their coursework with their research interests and career goals.The culminating requirement of the program is Thesis I, where students conduct original research under faculty supervision.
