COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Public Health in Biostatistics requires the completion of a minimum of forty-six credit hours, combining core public health courses, specialized biostatistics training, electives, and a culminating practical experience. The major requirements provide a strong foundation in statistical methods and public health principles. Core courses include Biostatistics in Public Health, Survival Analysis, Experimental Design, and Applied Regression Analysis, which develop essential skills for analyzing and interpreting health data. Students also study key public health areas such as Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Public Health Administration, Community Health Needs Assessment, and Social Determinants of Health, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of health systems and population health.In addition to required coursework, students complete nine credit hours of electives, allowing them to specialize in areas such as statistical software and advanced epidemiology. Options include training in tools like R, SAS, and Excel, as well as courses in pharmacoepidemiology, infectious and chronic disease epidemiology, and clinical research methods. This flexibility enables students to align their learning with specific career goals in data analysis, research, or public health practice.The program also includes a culminating requirement consisting of an applied practice experience in biostatistics and an integrative learning experience.
