COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Education in Research, Measurement, and Statistics requires a minimum of 30 credit hours for completion, combining major requirements and elective courses to provide a comprehensive foundation in educational research, measurement, and evaluation. Core courses are designed to develop practical and theoretical expertise in classroom assessment, research design, statistical analysis, and program evaluation. Students begin by exploring foundational courses such as Classroom Assessment or Introduction to Measurement, which focus on the principles and practices of assessing student learning and educational outcomes. This is followed by Statistics I for Educational Services and Statistics II, covering essential statistical methods, including ANOVA, nonparametric tests, and multiple regression, equipping students with quantitative skills to analyze educational data effectively.The program also emphasizes research design and methodology, offering courses in Quantitative Research Design and Analysis, Qualitative Research Design, and Survey Design and Applied Research in Education. These courses enable students to plan, conduct, and interpret research studies in various educational contexts. Students further develop specialized expertise through Research in Educational Services and Research in Evaluation and Measurement, where they apply research methods to evaluate programs, interventions, and learning outcomes. Program Evaluation courses provide additional training in assessing the effectiveness and impact of educational programs and policies.To complement the major requirements, students complete 3 credit hours of electives, allowing them to tailor the program to individual interests or career goals. The combination of core and elective courses ensures that graduates gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, preparing them for roles in schools, higher education, and professional research settings. Graduates of this program are equipped to serve as educators, administrators, evaluators, or researchers, proficient in applying research, statistical analysis, and program evaluation to improve educational practice and inform evidence-based decision-making.
