COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Education in Career-Technical Teacher Education requires the completion of a minimum of thirty-two credit hours, combining core coursework, electives, and a chosen specialization. The major requirements focus on building strong instructional and administrative skills in career-technical education. Core courses include Curriculum Guide: Design and Application, Principles and Practices in Career Technical Education, Analysis of Human Resource Development, and Program Evaluation in Career Technical Education. These courses help students develop expertise in curriculum planning, program management, and workforce-focused education. Students also take Special Populations in Career Technical Education, which emphasizes inclusive teaching practices, along with a course in statistics or research methods to strengthen analytical and research skills.In addition to core courses, students complete a three-credit elective from areas such as educational foundations, multicultural education, ethics, or learning and development. This allows them to broaden their understanding of educational theory and practice while aligning their studies with professional interests.A significant portion of the program is the eleven-credit specialization, where students choose between Career-Technical Teaching or Special Needs. The Career-Technical Teaching track focuses on program coordination, teaching area content, and professional electives related to technical education. The Special Needs track emphasizes working with disadvantaged or diverse learners, including coursework and electives in special education.
