COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Arts degree in Philosophy requires a total of 36 credit hours and is structured to provide both foundational and advanced study in philosophical methods, theory, and research. Core requirements begin with PHIL 51038 – Intermediate Logic (3 credit hours), which strengthens analytical and formal reasoning skills essential for advanced philosophical inquiry. Students also complete PHIL 60191 – Graduate Seminar 1 (6 credit hours) and PHIL 69101 – Proseminar: Professional and Pedagogical Training 2 (6 credit hours), which prepare them for academic and professional development, including teaching, scholarly writing, and research presentation.A significant portion of the program (15 credit hours) is devoted to Philosophy (PHIL) elective coursework, allowing students to explore specialized areas such as ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, history of philosophy, and applied philosophy.
