COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science degree in User Experience Design prepares students to create products, systems, and services that prioritize human needs and positive impact through a human-centered approach. The program equips students with technical understanding and in-demand design skills, focusing on UX/UI processes, user research, sketching, wireframing, prototyping, scenario building, and front-end development. Students learn to design user interfaces, interactive experiences, applications, motion sequences, videos, and screen displays that merge digital and physical environments. Emphasis is placed on defining design problems, researching solutions, conceptualizing interactive products, prototyping ideas, and evaluating concepts through user testing to produce refined, user-focused outcomes. Coursework includes foundational courses in technology, experience design, and web design, alongside creative coding, human-computer interaction, data in emerging media, visual design thinking, visual communication design, and interaction and information design. Students engage in interdisciplinary projects, internships, and motion design, developing professional competencies and collaborative skills essential for the field. Writing-intensive and experiential learning opportunities prepare students for professional practice. In addition to major-specific courses, students complete College of Communication and Information core electives and general education requirements, including composition, mathematics, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, providing a well-rounded liberal arts foundation. Through this comprehensive curriculum, graduates acquire both technical and design expertise, enabling them to create intuitive, efficient, and aesthetically compelling digital and physical experiences.
