COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering program requires a total of 120 credit hours and combines core engineering courses with mathematics, physics and general education requirements to build a strong technical foundation. The major requirements focus on essential engineering subjects, beginning with introductory courses such as engineering fundamentals, laboratory work and computer-aided design. As students progress, they study key areas like statics, dynamics, materials and processes, control systems, programmable logic controllers, digital design and electronic devices along with their associated labs. Courses in signals and circuits, electrical machinery and systems engineering further strengthen understanding of integrated systems. Advanced topics such as mechatronics, materials selection and computer-aided machine design prepare students for real-world applications. A significant part of the program is the capstone project, where students apply their knowledge to design and develop practical engineering solutions, often involving automation or robotics. Students must also complete a programming elective, choosing from computer science or engineering-based programming courses to enhance their technical skills.In addition to major coursework, students are required to complete supporting subjects that do not count toward the major GPA but are essential for overall development. These include communication, advanced mathematics such as calculus, linear algebra and differential equations, as well as physics courses with laboratory components. General education requirements in composition, humanities, social sciences and other core areas ensure a well-rounded academic experience. A small number of general electives allow flexibility based on student interests. Overall, the program is structured to provide both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, preparing graduates for careers in automation, robotics and modern engineering industries.
