COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering Technology requires students to complete a structured program of major courses, electives, and general education courses totaling at least 120 credit hours, including 39 upper-division credits. Major courses cover foundational engineering topics such as introduction to engineering, engineering laboratories, computer-aided design, materials and processes, applied thermodynamics, manufacturing technology, cast metals, hydraulics and pneumatics, programmable logic controllers, statics and strength of materials, quality techniques, facility design and material handling, industrial and environmental safety, additive manufacturing and 3D printing, computer-aided manufacturing, and a capstone engineering technology project. Professional development, technical writing, and management principles are integrated to prepare students for leadership and applied problem-solving in industrial settings. Students also take project management courses with options in engineering, business analytics, or supply chain management. Electrical circuits electives provide hands-on experience with electrical systems.Additional required courses ensure a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, economics, and psychology. Kent Core requirements include composition, humanities and fine arts, and general education in social sciences, while general electives are taken to reach the total credit hours needed for graduation. The curriculum emphasizes both theoretical instruction and hands-on learning, with laboratory work and experiments incorporated throughout.
