COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program provides students with a comprehensive foundation in computing principles and hands-on experience with modern technologies. The program begins with introductory courses in programming, data structures, discrete structures, and analytical geometry, ensuring students develop strong computational and mathematical skills. Core courses cover operating systems, computer organization, human-computer interaction, software engineering, database design, and programming patterns, which equip students to understand both the theoretical and practical aspects of computer science. Students also take advanced mathematics courses, including linear algebra, decision-making under uncertainty, and calculus, which support algorithmic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Science electives with laboratory components broaden students’ analytical capabilities and understanding of scientific principles, while foreign language and general education requirements ensure a well-rounded academic experience. The program allows students to select a concentration or pursue a general track, providing flexibility to align their studies with career goals. Concentration options include Cybersecurity, Data Engineering, Game Programming, and Robotics and Embedded Systems. Each concentration offers specialized courses such as secure programming, computer network security, cryptology, big data analytics, data mining, game engine concepts, embedded systems, intelligent robotics, and human-robot interaction, along with a capstone project that emphasizes writing-intensive and experiential learning. For students not declaring a concentration, upper-division electives and a capstone project allow exploration of advanced topics while fulfilling graduation requirements. The curriculum also integrates communication, professional development, and project management courses to develop essential soft skills, preparing graduates for effective collaboration and leadership in technical environments. With a total of 120 credit hours, including general education, major requirements, electives, and concentration-specific courses, graduates are equipped with the knowledge, practical experience, and problem-solving skills necessary to succeed in software development, data analysis, cybersecurity, robotics, artificial intelligence, and other computing fields, as well as to pursue advanced study in computer science or related disciplines.
