COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Architecture program requires a comprehensive and intensive curriculum that combines design studios, technical knowledge, and theoretical studies to prepare students for professional practice. The core of the program is a sequence of design studios from first through fourth year, where students progressively develop their skills in architectural design, creativity, and problem-solving. Alongside studios, students study global architectural history, architectural discourse, and specialized topics in history, helping them understand the cultural and historical context of architecture.The program also emphasizes technical and practical knowledge through courses in building structures, structural systems, materials and methods, and environmental technology. Students gain experience with computer applications in architecture, allowing them to develop digital design and visualization skills. Advanced design studios, including integrated design projects, help students apply their learning to complex, real-world architectural challenges. In addition, students must complete upper-division electives and a specialized architectural history elective, giving them the opportunity to explore areas of personal interest such as specific historical periods or architectural themes.Beyond the major, students are required to complete supporting coursework in mathematics and physics to strengthen their analytical and scientific understanding. General education requirements in composition, humanities, and social sciences, along with non-architecture electives, ensure a well-rounded academic experience. The program requires a minimum of 124 credit hours for graduation.
