COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Animation Game Design program requires students to complete a comprehensive curriculum that develops both creative and technical expertise in animation, modeling, and game design. Core courses include subjects such as two-dimensional graphics, modeling and texturing, digital sculpting, mixed reality, animation theory, and gaming culture, which together build a strong foundation in visual design and interactive media. Students also complete an internship or individual investigation and a senior capstone project, allowing them to gain real-world experience and showcase their skills through professional-level work.In addition to core courses, students must complete a wide range of major electives, giving them the flexibility to explore areas such as character animation, environmental game design, game prototyping, multimedia design, visual effects, programming, film, music production, and creative writing. These electives help students expand their skill set and tailor their learning based on individual interests and career goals. The program also includes supporting coursework in drawing, art history, mathematics, and communication, along with general education requirements in humanities, social sciences, and basic sciences to ensure a well-rounded academic experience.A key feature of the program is the option to choose a concentration in either Animation or Game Design. The Animation concentration focuses on areas such as character animation, animation production, real-time rendering, and advanced modeling, while the Game Design concentration emphasizes multimedia design, competitive gaming, environmental design, and game development projects. Students must complete at least 120 credit hours, including upper-division coursework, to graduate. Overall, the program combines artistic creativity, technical knowledge, and practical experience to prepare students for careers in animation, game design, and digital media industries.
