COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering program requires students to complete a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum that builds strong foundations in engineering principles, mathematics, and physical sciences. The major includes core courses such as statics, dynamics, aerodynamics, control systems, thermal fluid engineering, and aircraft performance and stability, which develop a deep understanding of how aerospace systems are designed and function. Students also study specialized topics like aerospace propulsion, finite element methods, materials selection, and orbital mechanics, allowing them to analyze and design advanced aerospace structures and vehicles. Laboratory components in areas such as signals and circuits and thermal fluids provide hands-on experience, reinforcing theoretical knowledge through practical application.The program emphasizes professional and technical development through courses in engineering computing, materials and processes, and design, as well as a two-part capstone project completed in the same academic year, where students work on real-world engineering challenges. Students must also choose a specialization area, such as space applications, systems engineering, machine design, materials, process control, or internships and research, enabling them to tailor their education to specific career interests.In addition to major coursework, students complete supporting courses in chemistry, physics, economics, and advanced mathematics, including calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra or mathematical methods in physical sciences. General education requirements in composition, humanities, and social sciences ensure a well-rounded academic experience. The program requires a minimum of 123 credit hours, along with maintaining a minimum major GPA of 2.75 and an overall GPA of 2.50 for graduation.
