COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Systems Engineering Technology program requires students to complete a comprehensive curriculum that integrates aeronautics, engineering principles, and applied technical skills. The major includes foundational courses such as non-pilot flight theory, aircraft propulsion systems, aircraft systems, and aircraft structures, which provide a strong understanding of aeronautical operations and design. Students also study advanced topics like applied flight dynamics, systems engineering, control systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, programmable logic controllers, and thermodynamics, helping them develop the ability to analyze and manage complex engineering systems. Engineering-focused courses such as statics, strength of materials, materials and processes, and computer-aided design further strengthen students’ technical and analytical capabilities.The program emphasizes practical and professional development through courses in engineering computing, project management, law and ethics, and professional development, ensuring students are prepared for real-world engineering environments. A two-part capstone project allows students to apply their knowledge to solve practical engineering problems, often involving design, implementation, and evaluation of systems. Students also complete electives in aeronautics, engineering, and electrical circuits, enabling them to customize their learning based on specific interests and career goals.In addition to major requirements, students must complete supporting coursework in physics, mathematics, economics, and communication to build a well-rounded academic foundation. Mathematics options include trigonometry and calculus, while physics courses include both lecture and laboratory components to enhance practical understanding. General education requirements such as composition, humanities, and social sciences are also included. The program requires a minimum of 120 credit hours, including upper-division coursework, to graduate.
