COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management requires students to complete a combination of major courses, electives, and additional business and general education courses totaling a minimum of 120 credit hours. Major courses focus on core human resource topics such as human resource management, developing and training human resources, staffing, global human resource management, performance management and compensation systems, and human resource analytics with ERP systems. Students also study organizational behavior and gain practical experience through internships, business consulting projects, or specialized HR projects. Major electives allow students to explore areas such as international HR experiences, seminars, healthcare management, leadership dynamics, mentoring, and other advanced HR topics, providing flexibility to align with individual career interests. Additional required courses cover accounting, business analytics, supply chain management, professional development, information systems, communication, economics, finance, management, strategic management, marketing, and introductory courses designed to build foundational business knowledge and skills. Students must also complete mathematics or critical reasoning courses, with options including quantitative reasoning, calculus, analytic geometry, or formal logic. Kent Core requirements include courses in composition, humanities and fine arts, social sciences, and basic sciences, with laboratory experience where applicable. General electives are taken to ensure students reach the total required credit hours, including at least 39 upper-division credit hours. This structured curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in human resource management while developing analytical, strategic, and leadership skills necessary for effective management and decision-making in a dynamic business environment.
