COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree in General Business requires a minimum of 120 credit hours, including major courses, major electives, additional business courses, general education, and general electives to meet the upper-division and total credit-hour requirements. Core major courses, which count toward the major GPA, provide students with a broad understanding of business disciplines and include Financial Reporting Issues and Analysis, Using Information Systems and Digital Technologies for Solving Business Problems, Money, Credit and Banking, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Individual Investment Strategies, Human Resource Management, and either Consumer Behavior or Advertising and Promotion Management. Students also select two additional major electives from a range of business-focused courses, including International Business, International Economic Relations, Healthcare Management, Leadership, Organizational Behavior, or an internship in management, allowing for a tailored exploration of specialized business areas.Additional business requirements outside the major GPA include foundational courses such as Introduction to Financial Accounting, Introduction to Managerial Accounting, Business Analytics I and II, Supply Chain Management, Exploring Business, Advanced Professional Development, Introduction to Information Systems, Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Legal Environment of Business, Business Finance, Principles of Management, Management Capstone, Principles of Marketing, and professional development courses. Students also complete a mathematics or critical reasoning elective, choosing from courses in quantitative reasoning, calculus, or formal logic.Kent Core requirements ensure a broad liberal education and include coursework in composition, humanities and fine arts, social sciences, basic sciences with at least one laboratory, and additional Kent Core courses. General electives provide flexibility to complete the 120-credit-hour minimum and include at least 39 upper-division credits.This curriculum equips students with a comprehensive understanding of multiple business areas, developing analytical, managerial, communication, and problem-solving skills that prepare graduates for a wide range of careers in business or for advanced study in business, including early admission to the M.B.A. program, where up to nine graduate-level credits can be applied toward both degrees.
