COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography at Kent State University provides students with a comprehensive understanding of natural and social systems and the spatial patterns that connect them. The program emphasizes both physical and human geography, integrating the study of the environment, human societies, and the interactions between them. Students explore topics such as climate, landforms, soils, plants, animals, and environmental processes, alongside cultural, political, economic, and demographic patterns. This dual focus allows students to analyze how human activity affects the natural world and how environmental conditions influence societies.The curriculum develops strong analytical, technical, and research skills through courses in statistical methods, mapping, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
