COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology program offers students two concentration options: General and Strength & Conditioning. This program equips students with a strong foundation in the science of human movement and prepares them for careers in fitness, health, and sports performance, or for further graduate study. The curriculum begins with 15 units of major courses that fulfill general education requirements, including topics in human anatomy, chemistry, psychology, and precalculus, along with an introductory course on human origins. Core coursework (25 units) provides essential knowledge in key areas such as biomechanics, exercise physiology, nutrition, and human physiology. Courses like Foundations of Kinesiology and Senior Seminar ensure that students develop both theoretical understanding and practical skills through experiential learning and research-based applications.The General concentration allows for flexibility and personalization, with students working closely with the kinesiology department to design a course path that fits their specific career interests and goals. In contrast, the Strength & Conditioning concentration is more structured, focusing on advanced training techniques and practical experience. It includes Advanced Strength and Conditioning with Lab and two practicum courses, ensuring hands-on application in real-world settings. Students in this concentration must also choose 4 elective units from a variety of options, such as Personal Training, Exercise Testing, Principles of Coaching, or Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries. These courses allow students to deepen their knowledge in areas like sports ministry, sports marketing, or chronic disease and disability management. Overall, the program blends scientific rigor with practical application, and it encourages a faith-based perspective on health and wellness. Graduates are well-prepared to work in clinical, athletic, or fitness environments, or to pursue further study in graduate programs such as physical therapy, athletic training, or exercise science.
