COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Aviation program at Jessup University includes a comprehensive 49-unit curriculum designed to equip students with essential knowledge and practical skills in the aviation field. Core general education and major requirement courses include Aviation Law, Precalculus, Meteorology for Aviation, and Physics 1 for Life Science, ensuring a strong foundation in science, math, and regulatory frameworks that support aviation learning.The 43-unit Aviation Core provides specialized training in key areas of flight and aviation systems. Courses such as Aviation Safety, Introduction to Aviation, and Intro to Air Traffic Control and Airspace introduce students to fundamental concepts. More advanced instruction includes Instrument Ground and Flight Labs, Crew Resource Management, Aviation Human Factors, and Aerodynamics. Students also study aircraft systems, gas turbine engines, and commercial pilot certification through multiple lab sessions, building proficiency for real-world application. The program culminates in an Aviation Flight Capstone or Internship, providing hands-on industry experience and professional preparation.In addition to the core curriculum, students must complete at least 6 units of upper-division aviation electives. Options include Aviation Leadership and Management, Flight Physiology, and multiple certification courses for advanced pilot ratings such as Multi-Engine (MEI), Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), and Instrument Instructor (CFII), each paired with corresponding flight labs.
