COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Professional Studies is a 120-credit online degree designed to prepare students for diverse and evolving career paths by integrating knowledge from multiple disciplines. The program begins with foundational courses such as Introduction to Interdisciplinary Professional Studies and concludes with a capstone project, enabling students to address real-world problems using interdisciplinary methods. Students are required to choose two concentration areas from the following: Business, Criminal Justice, Health and Human Services, Healthcare Administration, Network Security, and Psychology. Each concentration comprises 18 semester credit hours and includes key subjects relevant to each field. For example, the Business track covers topics like leadership, business law, ethics, and project management, while the Criminal Justice concentration includes courses on law, crisis intervention, probation, and victimology. The Health and Human Services track emphasizes social policy, nonprofit management, and interdisciplinary care, whereas Healthcare Administration focuses on healthcare delivery, conflict resolution, law and ethics, and current issues in the industry. Network Security offers instruction in programming, computer networks, databases, Linux administration, and operating systems. Psychology includes studies in development, gender, social and cognitive psychology, and psychopathology. In addition to concentration areas, students must complete 40 open elective credits, 36 general education credits covering communications, humanities, mathematics, behavioral sciences, and science, and 2 credits in professional development courses that help with career planning and life skills. The curriculum emphasizes flexibility and practical knowledge, allowing students to tailor their education to individual goals and market demands.
