COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology is a comprehensive 120-credit undergraduate degree program that prepares students for a broad range of IT careers. The curriculum includes 67 required credit hours in core IT subjects, offering in-depth knowledge and practical skills in areas such as computer architecture, operating systems, network fundamentals, Linux system administration, programming in Python and C++, and database management. Advanced topics include virtualization, cybersecurity, ethical hacking, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, wireless security, and data analytics. Students also study IT project management, information systems management, human-computer interaction, and data privacy. Many courses offer hands-on experience and align with industry practices to ensure job readiness. Students can personalize their learning with open electives and may replace up to 12 core credits with approved graduate-level coursework. The program culminates with a capstone project or internship, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges in technology. In addition to the IT core, students complete 36 credit hours of general education courses, including English composition, information literacy, speech, mathematics, psychology, environmental science, and humanities. These courses foster critical thinking, communication, and cultural awareness. The curriculum also includes two professional development courses to help students plan their careers and develop practical life skills such as resume writing, time management, financial literacy, and interview techniques.
