COURSE CURRICULUM

The cybersecurity bachelor’s degree program offers a comprehensive and multidisciplinary curriculum designed to prepare students for careers in information security and IT. The program consists of 67 semester credit hours of required courses that cover core technical areas such as microcomputer organization, computer architecture, operating systems, network fundamentals, and Linux system administration. Students also gain proficiency in programming (Python), database management, and enterprise network engineering. Courses in virtualization, cloud computing, cloud security, and wireless security build additional depth in current technologies, while topics like cybersecurity foundations, ethical hacking, data privacy, risk management, and incident response provide essential security knowledge. Advanced topics such as computer forensics, governance, compliance, artificial intelligence, and AI applications in cybersecurity further enhance technical competency. Students also explore project management, information systems management, and IT governance. The curriculum includes options for dual credit graduate-level coursework, allowing up to 12 credit hours to count toward a master’s degree in computer science or cybersecurity. A required capstone or internship offers real-world experience, enabling students to apply their learning in practical, professional environments. In addition, students complete 36 credit hours of general education in communication, humanities, math, science, and social sciences, alongside two personal and professional development courses that support academic and career success. This well-rounded education equips students with both technical and soft skills, preparing them for a variety of entry-level roles in cybersecurity and IT.
