COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Science in Project Management with a Human-Centered Interaction Design concentration is structured to prepare students to lead projects that emphasize user-focused, intuitive, and accessible digital solutions. In the first year, the fall semester begins with Principles of Project Management and Introduction to Large Language Models in Project Management, establishing a foundation in core project management skills and emerging technologies. The spring semester builds on this foundation with Planning and Executing Projects and Organizational Leadership, equipping students to develop comprehensive project plans, manage teams effectively, and oversee project execution. During the summer semester, students complete Risk, Procurement, and Contracts alongside Agile Project Management with Scrum Methodology, emphasizing iterative project execution, risk mitigation, and contract management, essential for dynamic project environments. In the second year, the fall semester introduces Research Methodology and Writing or Applied Project Management I alongside Design Perspectives, providing students with human-centered design knowledge and practical research skills. The spring semester focuses on Qualitative Discovery Research and Theories of Human Interaction, allowing students to analyze user needs, behavioral patterns, and design principles. The summer semester culminates with Users and Populations and a Graduate Thesis or Applied Project Management II, giving students the opportunity to apply project management principles to real-world human-centered design projects. Graduates are prepared to lead multidisciplinary teams, integrate UX/UI and interaction design strategies, and deliver technology solutions that are effective, inclusive, and engaging.
