COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Science in Project Management with a Biotechnology concentration is designed to prepare students to manage complex projects in the highly regulated and innovation-driven biotechnology sector. In the first year, the fall semester begins with Principles of Project Management and Introduction to Large Language Models in Project Management, establishing foundational knowledge in project planning, leadership, and emerging technology applications. The spring semester focuses on Organizational Leadership and Planning and Executing Projects, equipping students with skills to lead teams, develop project plans, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outcomes. During the summer, students complete Risk, Procurement, and Contracts alongside Agile Project Management with Scrum Methodology, emphasizing iterative project execution, risk mitigation, and effective contract management tailored to biotech initiatives. In the second year, the fall semester includes Research Methodology and Writing or Applied Project Management I, paired with a biotechnology concentration elective, enabling students to integrate project management principles with sector-specific knowledge. The spring semester is dedicated to two biotechnology concentration electives, allowing students to deepen expertise in areas such as clinical trials, regulatory compliance, or product development. The program concludes in the summer with a Graduate Thesis or Applied Project Management II and a final concentration elective, providing hands-on, applied experience. This sequence equips graduates to oversee biotech projects, drive innovation, and ensure compliance and efficiency throughout the lifecycle of scientific and commercial endeavors.
