COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Harrisburg University is a 36-semester hour program designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in drug action, pharmacology, and personalized medicine, preparing them for careers in research, industry, or further doctoral study. The program includes 18 semester hours of core courses, covering Pharmacogenomics, Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics, Drug Transport, Drug Metabolism, and Ethics and Trends in Pharmaceutical Science, offering a strong foundation in drug development, clinical applications, and professional standards. Six semester hours of experiential learning are also required through Research Methodology and Writing, followed by either a Graduate Thesis or an Applied Project in Pharmaceutical Sciences, enabling students to apply research and analytical skills in practical or scholarly contexts. Additionally, students complete 12 semester hours of electives, which may include courses in analytics, omics for life sciences, biostatistics, experimental design, advanced drug discovery, regulatory affairs, bioprocessing, cancer biotechnology, regenerative medicine, fermentation technologies, legal affairs, and healthcare predictive analysis. These elective options allow students to tailor their education to specific career goals and emerging fields within pharmaceutical sciences and biotechnology.
