COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse Educator concentration is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in advanced nursing practice, education theory, and teaching skills. In the first year, the fall semester begins with Foundational Concepts for Master Prepared Nurses and Healthcare Policy, offering a comprehensive understanding of professional nursing principles and the healthcare system. The spring semester includes Healthcare Informatics and Quality and Safety, preparing students to utilize technology and evidence-based practices to improve patient care and organizational outcomes. During the summer, students complete Advanced Research Methods and Evidence-Based Practices alongside Advanced Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Health Assessment, developing critical clinical and research skills. In the second year, the fall semester focuses on Theoretical Foundations in Nursing Education and Curriculum Development, equipping students with knowledge to design, implement, and manage effective nursing programs. The spring semester includes Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Teaching Models and Nursing Practicum I, providing hands-on experience in instructional strategies and teaching practice. The program culminates in the summer with Assessment and Evaluation in Education and Nursing Practicum II, enabling students to apply assessment techniques and evaluate educational outcomes in real-world settings. This sequence prepares graduates to assume leadership roles as nurse educators in academic, clinical, and professional development environments, fostering evidence-based teaching and advanced nursing practice.
