COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Cybersecurity Operations and Control Management is a 36-semester hour program designed to provide comprehensive training in network security, cybersecurity architecture, cloud security, and leadership within the cybersecurity field. Students complete 15 semester hours of core courses covering principles of computer networking, cybersecurity architecture and resiliency, cloud security, securing software and application environments, and leadership, ethics, and compliance in the cybersecurity industry. These courses provide a strong foundation in both technical and managerial aspects of cybersecurity, ensuring graduates can design, implement, and oversee secure computing environments. The program also includes 6 semester hours of experiential learning through research methodology and writing, followed by either an applied project or a graduate thesis, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical or research-based cybersecurity challenges. The Cybersecurity and Cyber Warfare concentration requires 15 semester hours, including courses in principles of cybersecurity and cyber warfare, ethical hacking development lab, and cyber risk assessment and management. Students also complete courses in special topics or current topics in cybersecurity operations and control management, or electives, allowing for customization based on individual interests. Overall, the program prepares graduates for advanced roles in cybersecurity operations, risk management, ethical hacking, and strategic oversight of secure network environments.
