The Student Learning Outcomes for the Science program at Gannon University focus on providing students with a strong foundation in scientific knowledge, skills, and ethical practice. Students are expected to demonstrate broad comprehension across the sciences, gaining an understanding of core principles in disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, environmental science, and mathematics.Students choose a field of interest by completing at least 24 credits in a specific subdiscipline, allowing them to develop specialized expertise while maintaining a broad scientific perspective. The program emphasizes the ability to explain natural phenomena accurately using appropriate scientific terminology, symbols, and models, ensuring clear and precise communication of complex concepts.A key component of the curriculum is hands-on learning, where students apply the scientific method to conduct laboratory experiments, including making observations, formulating hypotheses, collecting and analyzing data, and drawing and disseminating conclusions.
