The Student Learning Outcomes for the Psychology (BS) program at Gannon University focus on preparing students to understand, analyze, and apply psychological principles through rigorous research and ethical practice. Students learn to use statistics to test research hypotheses and correctly interpret and evaluate findings, developing strong quantitative and analytical skills essential for scientific study.The program provides a comprehensive overview of psychology, enabling students to describe subfields, specialties, and perspectives within the discipline while demonstrating knowledge of the fundamental areas of psychology. Students also gain proficiency in professional standards, including APA ethics and other professional issues, ensuring responsible and ethical practice.Research skills are emphasized through the ability to conduct literature searches, write papers in APA style, and design, conduct, and present research individually or as part of a team.
