COURSE CURRICULUM

The Student Learning Outcomes for the Interdisciplinary Studies program at Gannon University focus on developing a broad, integrative, and versatile skill set across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Students gain a strong foundation in the primary historical, philosophical, literary, and theological themes of the humanities, alongside knowledge of the key theories, methods, and practices of the social sciences. This interdisciplinary approach allows students to connect ideas across multiple fields and approach problems from diverse perspectives.Communication skills are a core outcome of the program. Students are trained to read, write, and speak with clarity, originality, and persuasiveness in a variety of academic, professional, and social contexts. They also develop the ability to apply aesthetic, quantitative, and scientific reasoning to their work, equipping them to analyze complex problems, make informed decisions, and present solutions effectively.Ethics and social responsibility are central components of the program. Students learn to analyze and evaluate principles of ethics and social justice, preparing them to act thoughtfully and responsibly in professional and civic settings.
