COURSE CURRICULUM
The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree program requires the successful completion of 121 credits with a minimum cumulative grade point ratio of 2.00 and provides students with comprehensive training in electrical engineering theory, design, programming, electronics, communications, signal processing, and embedded systems. During the first semester, students build foundational skills through engineering practices, graphics and design, calculus, university physics with laboratory work, composition, and university preparation courses. In the second semester, students advance into programming languages in engineering, digital system design, calculus II, and advanced physics coursework while continuing to strengthen communication and professional development skills. The third semester introduces core electrical engineering topics such as Signals and Systems I, Microprocessor System Design I, advanced engineering programming, differential equations, and cross-cultural studies. In the fourth semester, students continue with Signals and Systems II, Microprocessor System Design II, engineering statistics and reliability, technical communications, and global studies. Advanced engineering coursework begins in the fifth semester with Linear Systems, Electronics I, Electrical Energy Conversion, Calculus III, and managerial and engineering economic analysis, helping students develop analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities relevant to modern engineering industries. During the sixth semester, students complete studies in chemistry, Digital Signal Processing, Electronics II, advanced engineering mathematics, and modern technologies, further integrating theoretical knowledge with engineering applications. In the seventh semester, students focus on Electromagnetic Fields and Waves, Electronics III, preparation for the electrical engineering project, data communications and computer networks, and analog and digital control systems. The final semester includes the Electrical Engineering Project, Communication Systems, and technical electives that allow students to specialize in areas such as embedded systems, operating systems, database systems, linear algebra, data structures and algorithms, chemistry, or engineering applications. The curriculum emphasizes engineering design, laboratory experience, programming, electronics, communications technology, control systems, and signal processing while preparing students for careers in areas such as telecommunications, embedded systems, computer engineering, electronics, energy systems, and control engineering. The program also offers a 15-credit Electrical Engineering minor for non-electrical engineering majors, providing students with a foundation in signals and systems, microprocessor design, electronics, and digital system design. Overall, the program combines rigorous technical education, practical laboratory experience, and professional engineering preparation to equip graduates for successful careers in the rapidly evolving electrical engineering field.
