COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a concentration in Pre-Pharmacy follows a rigorous science-based curriculum designed to prepare students for pharmacy school, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical research, and healthcare-related careers. The degree plan begins with strong foundational coursework in chemistry and biology during the first two semesters, where students complete General Chemistry I and II with laboratory components, Calculus I, Applied Statistics or Calculus II, Biological Diversity, and Introduction to Molecules, Cells, and Genes. These courses establish the scientific and mathematical knowledge required for advanced pharmaceutical and biochemical studies. During the third and fourth semesters, students progress into Organic Chemistry I and II with laboratory training, as well as University Physics I and II with laboratories. Students also complete Anatomy and Physiology I and II, which are especially important for understanding human body systems and pharmaceutical applications in healthcare. In the middle and later stages of the program, students study advanced chemistry subjects such as Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Biochemistry I and II, and scientific seminar courses. Instrumental Analysis provides training in modern laboratory technologies and analytical methods commonly used in pharmaceutical and scientific industries.
