COURSE CURRICULUM

Students begin with ACCT3241 Intermediate Financial Accounting I and ACCT3242 Intermediate Financial Accounting II, which develop advanced understanding of financial reporting, accounting standards, asset valuation, liabilities, equity, and preparation of complex financial statements. ACCT3243 Cost Accounting: Measurement and Control focuses on managerial accounting concepts, cost analysis, budgeting, performance evaluation, and decision-making techniques used within organizations. Students also complete ACCT3390 Accounting Information Systems, where they study the integration of accounting processes with information technology systems, internal controls, data management, and business reporting tools that support modern accounting operations. Advanced professional preparation continues through ACCT4261 Advanced Accounting, which covers complex accounting topics such as consolidations, partnerships, multinational accounting issues, and advanced financial reporting standards. ACCT4263 Auditing Concepts introduces students to auditing principles, professional ethics, risk assessment, internal controls, audit procedures, and standards used by public accounting professionals to evaluate financial information and organizational compliance. In ACCT4267 Fundamentals of Federal Taxation, students learn the principles of federal income taxation for individuals and businesses, including tax planning, compliance requirements, deductions, credits, and tax reporting procedures. Together, these required courses provide a comprehensive academic foundation aligned with professional accounting standards and CPA preparation expectations.
