COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s in Software Engineering at DePaul University is designed to develop both technical expertise and professional competencies through clearly defined learning outcomes that reflect industry needs. Through this combination of modeling, development, testing, project management, teamwork, and communication, the program prepares graduates to build high-quality software systems and succeed in professional software engineering roles.The Master’s in Special Education at DePaul University offers a flexible curriculum designed to meet the needs of both aspiring and practicing educators through pathways such as Pre-Service Special Education and Special Education for Teachers. The program prepares students to work with individuals with diverse learning needs from pre-kindergarten through age 21, focusing on inclusive teaching practices, individualized instruction, and evidence-based interventions. Students have the option to pursue an initial Illinois Teaching License (PEL) with a Special Education (LBS1 preK–21) endorsement, or a combined endorsement in Special Education and Elementary Education (grades 1–6), providing broader teaching qualifications. For those who are already licensed teachers, the program offers the opportunity to add a Special Education (LBS1 preK–21) endorsement to their existing credentials. The curriculum integrates coursework in assessment, instructional strategies, behavior support, and collaboration, along with practical field experiences that allow students to apply their learning in real classroom settings. Emphasis is also placed on working collaboratively with families, educators, and support staff to create inclusive and supportive learning environments.
