COURSE CURRICULUM

The graduate degree in Digital Communication and Media Arts at DePaul University is designed to prepare students to create innovative content and communicate effectively across digital platforms. This interdisciplinary program combines communication strategies with technical skills, allowing students to understand both the creative and technological aspects of digital media. Offered in collaboration with the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media, the program provides a balanced approach that equips students to navigate the rapidly evolving digital landscape.Students in the program develop strong technical abilities while also examining the broader role of digital media and technology in society. They have the flexibility to explore areas of interest such as advertising, public relations, journalism, media and popular culture, design, and media production. The program offers two main concentrations, Digital Communication and Media Arts, allowing students to tailor their studies based on their career goals and interests.Classes are available at the Loop campus, with evening and online options that make the program accessible for students with different schedules. Depending on their chosen concentration, students apply through either the College of Communication or the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media. For international students, the program’s STEM designation provides an added advantage by potentially allowing an extended post-graduation stay in the United States. Overall, the program combines flexibility, interdisciplinary learning, and practical skills to prepare graduates for careers in digital media and communication.
