COURSE CURRICULUM

The coursework in the Sound Recording Technology program is designed to prepare students for professional careers in audio engineering, music production, and sound design by combining technical training, musical knowledge, and industry practice. Students begin with foundational courses such as Sound and Acoustics, which explores how sound behaves in different environments, and Analog and Digital Signal Flow, which teaches how audio signals are routed and processed in both traditional and modern recording systems.Microphone Techniques focuses on capturing high-quality audio in a variety of settings, helping students understand how to select and position microphones for different instruments, voices, and acoustic environments. Students also study Analog and Digital Circuits, which provides an understanding of the electronic systems behind audio equipment, allowing them to troubleshoot and optimize recording technology effectively.Creative and applied courses such as Audio Post-Production and Sound Design train students to edit, mix, and design sound for media such as film, television, and digital projects. Electro-acoustic Music introduces experimental and electronic approaches to music creation, expanding students’ creative and technical perspectives. Music Business provides essential knowledge about the commercial side of the music industry, including production rights, distribution, and industry practices.The program offers two main academic tracks: Performance and Audio Technology. The Performance track focuses on applying recording skills in musical performance settings, while the Audio Technology track emphasizes engineering, production, and technical expertise in studio and live environments.Overall, the curriculum blends science, technology, and creativity to prepare students for a wide range of careers in the audio industry.
