COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Music curriculum is designed to provide students with a flexible and well-rounded educational experience that combines musical training with broader academic exploration. Through Applied Lessons, students receive individualized instruction to develop their technical skills and artistic expression on their chosen instrument or voice. Participation in Large and Small Ensembles allows them to gain valuable performance experience, collaborate with other musicians, and build confidence in both group and solo settings. Musicianship courses further strengthen their understanding of music theory, ear training, and overall musical proficiency.In addition to performance and technical training, students complete a variety of music and non-music electives, giving them the freedom to explore diverse areas of interest and tailor their education to their personal and career goals. Liberal Studies Coursework provides a strong foundation in the humanities, social sciences, and other disciplines, encouraging critical thinking and a broader understanding of the world. The inclusion of Modern Languages enhances cultural awareness and communication skills, which are valuable in today’s global environment.A significant component of the program is the Capstone Project, where students apply what they have learned in a comprehensive and meaningful way, often involving research, performance, or creative work.
