COURSE CURRICULUM

The American Studies program at DePaul University offers a diverse and interdisciplinary curriculum that examines the cultural, social, political, and historical dimensions of the United States. Core coursework includes The American Experience, which provides a broad overview of U.S. society and identity, and American Economic History, which explores the nation’s economic development and its impact on society. Courses like Urban Politics and Urban Planning focus on how cities are governed and developed, while Archeology of Cities and The Material Culture of Modern America examine physical spaces, objects, and environments as reflections of cultural values.Students also explore social issues through Race and Ethnic Relations, gaining insight into diversity, inequality, and identity in American society.
