COURSE CURRICULUM

The Interior Architecture and Design program offers two specialized concentrations that allow students to focus their studies and develop deeper expertise in a specific area of the field.The Interior Architecture concentration emphasizes the design of sustainable, functional, and visually compelling interior spaces that enhance quality of life. Students gain experience through studio-based instruction, service learning, and internships, all of which help them apply design principles in real-world contexts. This pathway also includes a required Design Scenario at the end of the first year, which serves as a milestone to continue in the major and demonstrates readiness for advanced study.The Interior Products and Retailing concentration focuses on the business and product side of the interiors industry. Students explore interior furnishings and product development while also learning design thinking processes, marketing strategies, and consumer behavior. This concentration also emphasizes relationship building, entrepreneurship, and business development within the interior design marketplace, preparing students for roles that connect design with commerce.Overall, these concentrations allow students to tailor their education toward either hands-on architectural design work or the commercial and product-focused side of the interior industry, depending on their career goals.
