This focused approach helps students build stronger expertise and better prepares them for professional roles in their chosen field.In the French concentration, students study language, linguistics, translation, and French and Francophone literature and culture. The program also encourages real-world practice through activities such as French Club and study abroad experiences, which help students strengthen fluency and cultural understanding by engaging directly with native speakers and immersive environments.The German concentration includes courses in language, literature, linguistics, and cultural studies, along with practical applications such as Business German and translation. Students also participate in cultural events organized through the German Club, which enhances their communication skills and deepens their understanding of German-speaking societies and professional contexts.The Spanish concentration covers a broad range of areas, including Spanish language, linguistics, translation, and the literatures and cultures of Latin America, Spain (Peninsular studies), and transatlantic regions. Students can further enrich their experience by joining organizations such as the Spanish Club or El Centro and taking advantage of study abroad opportunities, all of which strengthen language fluency and cultural awareness.In addition, the Spanish for the Professions concentration focuses on applying language skills in specific career fields such as healthcare, business, animal care, and translation or interpretation services. This pathway is designed for students who want to use Spanish in professional, real-world contexts, giving them targeted vocabulary, cultural competence, and practical communication abilities relevant to specialized industries.
