COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at California State University, San Bernardino requires the completion of 42 units of graduate coursework designed to prepare students for leadership and professional roles in public health. The core curriculum consists of 38 units covering essential areas such as professional development and leadership in public health, advanced biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental and occupational health, health promotion, public health policy and administration, health education program planning, grant writing, and field experience. These courses provide students with a comprehensive foundation in public health theory, research methods, and applied practice. The program also emphasizes experiential learning through the field experience, allowing students to apply knowledge in real-world public health settings. In addition to the core courses, students must complete a culminating experience worth four units, choosing between a project or a thesis.
