COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Leadership Communication requires a total of 43 units, forming part of the 120 units needed for graduation. Core courses (18 units) provide foundational knowledge in leadership communication, business and professional communication, organizational communication, research methodology, ethics, and culminate in a Leadership Communication Capstone. Students develop specialized competencies (9 units) by choosing from courses such as small group communication, persuasion, organizational listening, conflict management, interviewing, and policy communication. The program also offers contextual learning (12 units), allowing students to explore communication in areas like training programs, health communication, relational communication, gender, classroom dynamics, strategic campaigns, environmental communication, crisis communication, political communication, and advanced topics in communication dynamics. Experiential learning (4 units) is emphasized through practicums, service learning, internships, and teaching shadowships, providing practical, hands-on experience to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world and organizational settings. Together, these courses equip students with the skills to lead, communicate effectively, and strategically navigate organizational environments.
