COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Nutrition and Food program at California State University, Sacramento requires a total of 30 units, combining core coursework, electives, and a culminating experience. The program includes 18 units of required core courses that provide advanced training in research methods, nutrition science, and community-based applications. Students study topics such as advanced community nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition policy, and sustainability in food production. The core also includes a culminating experience, where students apply their knowledge to a practical or research-based project.In addition to the core, students complete 12 units of elective courses, allowing them to tailor their studies according to their interests and career goals. Electives are offered across multiple disciplines, including anthropology, economics, environmental studies, public policy, psychology, sociology, and nutrition.
