COURSE CURRICULUM

This mathematics major requires a total of 46 credits, with at least 26 credits at the upper-division level. The core courses cover essential topics such as discrete mathematics, calculus (I, II, and III), linear algebra, probability and statistics, geometry, and number theory. Students must also choose one advanced course between real analysis and abstract algebra. A capstone course and a math elective (3 or 4 credits) are required, along with an internship option to gain practical experience.Supporting courses include two semesters of physics with labs, providing a strong foundation in the physical sciences. Students must select one programming course from introductory computer programming or concepts of programming, or alternatively, a course in career decisions in education.Recommended courses include capstone preparation and elementary mathematical analysis, as well as electives like American government theory and general psychology to broaden students’ academic perspectives.This program offers a rigorous combination of mathematical theory, applied sciences, and practical experience designed to prepare students for diverse career paths or further graduate studies.
