COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Administration degree requires a minimum of 50 credits, including 34 upper-division credits in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, and Economics, plus 22 supporting credits, totaling 72 credits. Students must complete core courses such as Principles of Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Business Analytics, Organizational Behavior, Business Law, Marketing, Information Systems, Finance, and Statistical Methods. They also choose one 4-credit capstone or seminar course like Strategic Management or Executive Roundtable Capstone. Supporting courses include Introduction to Business, General Economics, Creativity and Innovation, Applied Calculus, Communication for Managers (or Business and Professional Communication), and a course in ethics.Students select one emphasis from six available options, each requiring at least 12 credits in specialized courses. The Business Economics emphasis focuses on quantitative and economic analysis, covering subjects like Money and Banking, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Environmental Economics, International Economics, and Economic Development. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship emphasis includes courses on launching startups, sales management, raising capital, and global entrepreneurship. The Finance emphasis covers Intermediate and Corporate Finance, Financial Strategy, Real Estate Finance, Investment Analysis, and raising capital.The Global Business emphasis centers on international business, marketing, global behavior, international economics, political economy, and entrepreneurship. The Management emphasis includes sustainable business, sports management, human resource management, negotiation, event planning, leadership, project management, and organizational development. Lastly, the Marketing emphasis explores marketing research, advertising, brand development, digital marketing, social marketing, sports and entertainment marketing, and international marketing.Internships and independent studies can count toward emphasis requirements, with a maximum of 4 combined credits toward the 12-credit emphasis minimum. Students specializing in multiple emphases must avoid overlapping courses. UNIV 102: Introduction to Personal Finance is also required across all emphases.
