COURSE CURRICULUM

The Marketing Communication major requires a minimum of 40 credits, with at least 24 credits at the upper-division level. Core courses include Introduction to Mass Communication, Media Writing, Communication Theories as the capstone, Research Methods, and Principles of Marketing. Students must choose between Independent Study or an Internship to gain hands-on experience. Additionally, they select either Principles of Accounting or Environment of Business to build foundational business knowledge.The program also offers specialized communication courses, where students choose one from Persuasive Communication, Principles of Public Relations, or Principles of Advertising. For skills in digital media, students select one from Content Creation for Digital Platforms, Storyboarding, or Website Design and Publishing.To deepen their marketing expertise, students pick two courses from a range of advanced marketing topics including Marketing Research and Consumer Behavior, Integrated Marketing Communication, Social Marketing, Marketing Management, International Marketing, and various seminars or special topics. There are also options focused on niche markets such as Sports-Related Marketing and Entertainment Industry Marketing.This curriculum is designed to blend communication and business fundamentals, preparing students for diverse marketing roles by equipping them with practical skills, strategic knowledge, and experiential learning opportunities.
