COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Media and Design major requires students to complete a minimum of 62 credits, with at least 36 of those being upper division courses. A core aspect of the program is specialization, and all students must declare an emphasis to tailor their education to their career goals and creative interests. The three available emphasis areas are Graphic Design, Interactive Media, and Motion Design and Visual Effects. Each emphasis provides focused coursework and hands-on experience in its respective area, allowing students to build a strong, specialized portfolio. Graphic Design emphasizes visual communication and branding across print and digital platforms. Interactive Media focuses on user experience, web design, and digital interactivity. Motion Design and Visual Effects centers on animation, video production, and special effects used in film, television, and digital content. Through these pathways, students gain both creative and technical skills while developing an understanding of how to apply them in real-world media environments. This flexible yet comprehensive structure ensures that graduates are well-prepared for careers in the evolving digital media industry.
