COURSE CURRICULUM

Bentley University’s Master’s in Business Analytics (MSBA) program combines a rigorous core curriculum with flexible elective options to prepare students for careers at the forefront of data-driven decision-making. The program begins with a foundation course in Managerial Statistics, ensuring that all students develop a strong quantitative base. The core component consists of seven courses covering essential analytical techniques and tools, including Data Management and SQL for Analytics, Managing with Analytics, Optimization and Simulation for Business Decisions, Time Series Analysis, Data Mining, Quantitative Analysis for Business, and Intermediate Statistical Modeling for Business. Together, these courses provide students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to analyze complex data, build predictive models, and support strategic decision-making.Beyond the core, students select three electives within one of five focus clusters—Data Science, Finance, Information Management, Management, or Marketing—allowing them to tailor the program to their academic interests and career goals. The Data Science cluster emphasizes advanced analytics, cloud-based applications, business intelligence, experimental design, and machine learning. Finance courses cover investments, equity and fixed-income valuation, derivatives, and macroeconomic financial analysis. Information Management focuses on business processes, information ethics, and data visualization. Management electives develop leadership, team effectiveness, negotiation, and change management skills, while Marketing electives emphasize research, customer data analysis, and relationship marketing.
