COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Administration major at Bellarmine University is a comprehensive, four-year, 120-credit hour program that equips students with foundational knowledge and practical skills for success across a wide array of business careers. In the first year, students are introduced to core areas such as business concepts, academic writing, psychology, and public speaking, while also completing general education requirements in history, natural science, and fine arts. The second year deepens students’ understanding through courses in financial and managerial accounting, business law, macroeconomics, microeconomics, and managing information technology. Students also take philosophy and theology courses, fulfilling Bellarmine’s liberal arts emphasis and supporting the development of critical thinking and ethical decision-making. The third year focuses on upper-level business disciplines such as management, marketing, finance, and international trade and finance, while also offering students the flexibility to tailor their studies with electives. A course in either management science or econometrics adds a quantitative dimension. Students also fulfill additional general education requirements in inclusivity and upper-level philosophy or theology. In the final year, students engage in entrepreneurship through the New Business Ventures course and gain real-world experience through a business internship. The program culminates with Business Policy, a capstone course, and the Senior Comprehensive Exam, alongside the Merici Community Engaged Seminar. Throughout the program, electives allow for customization based on career goals or further specialization. The curriculum emphasizes analytical thinking, ethical leadership, communication, and global awareness, preparing graduates for diverse opportunities in fields such as management, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, consulting, and nonprofit work.
